About The Hernia Center
Formed
in 1984, The Hernia Center is one of the country's oldest surgical practices
whose surgeons focus on the repair of groin, abdominal, umbilical, and
incisional hernias. The surgical techniques utilized by surgeons at The Hernia
Center lessen patient discomfort, speed recovery, and minimize the chance of
your hernia coming back. Among the techniques for groin hernias is the mesh
PerFix plug, an operation proven to be safe, reliable, and considered a
revolutionary advance in the modern treatment of hernias. In addition,
laparoscopic repair of incisional hernias is also available.
The Hernia Center
Philosophy
- By utilizing experienced health care
professionals, you receive the most up-to-date hernia care possible. Because
our surgeons focus on hernia surgery, your care is in the hands of experts.
- For most types of repairs, particularly groin,
umbilical, and epigastric hernias, you are admitted two hours prior to your
operation, the actual surgery usually takes less than 30 minutes, and you are
walking and discharged within two hours after the procedure is completed. For
incisional hernias, the procedure may last slightly longer.
- You should have minimal discomfort and be able
to return to normal daily activities within a few days.
- All of your questions concerning hernia
surgery should be fully answered in a professional manner.
