Dr. Ashok

Dr. Ashok is board certified and recertified in general surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed his surgical residency at both the Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center and Muhlenberg Hospital in New Jersey. Dr. Ashok served as a major on the medical staff of the United States Army and also received an appointment as clinical assistant professor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Having established a surgical practice in Freehold, New Jersey, Dr. Ashok is an active member of the medical staff at the CentraState Medical Center where he has been Chief of the Department of Surgery. Long interested in hernia surgery, Dr. Ashok has had a lengthy association with Dr. Ira Rutkow at The Hernia Center where together they have performed hundreds of mesh PerFix plug hernia repairs.

Dr. Kovacs

Dr. Kovacs is board certified and recertified in general surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. After completing an internship at the Brooklyn Jewish Hospital in New York City he continued his surgical residency at the Brookdale Medical Center also in New York. In addition, he pursued further training in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at the Nassau Hospital on Long Island. While serving as a major on the medical staff of the United States Army, Dr. Kovacs also received an appointment as clinical assistant professor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Establishing a practice in Freehold, New Jersey, Dr. Kovacs has been a long time member of the medical staff at the CentraState Medical Center, where he has served as both Chief-of-Staff and Assistant Chief of the Department of Surgery. His interest in hernia surgery has included a ten year association with Dr. Ira Rutkow at The Hernia Center where Dr. Kovacs has participated in hundreds of mesh PerFix plug hernia repairs.
